CCRs Help Connect People with Shelters and Hot Meals on Thanksgiving Day

We hope you all had a good Thanksgiving! Here’s what CCRs were up to during the holiday.

Capitol Hill

SPD referred a person seeking warming supplies to CCRs. CCRs met with the person and provided them with a blanket, hand warmers, an emergency wrap and snacks. CCRs also gave these items to another individual who was in the area and cleared the call.

Haller Lake

While on patrol, CARE responders spotted an individual slumped over. CCRs saw the person was breathing and tried to rouse them. The personally didn’t initially respond but eventually awoke, said they were OK, and accepted food, water, and warming supplies.

CCRs departed, but were later called back to transport the person to a sobering facility. They provided the person with information about detox programs before departing from the facility.

Delridge

SPD requested CCRs to assist by providing transportation for the victim of an assault. CCRs saw the person was cold and wearing wet clothes and provided them with dry attire. CCRs then drove them home.

First Hill

CCRs were called to assist a person who was being trespassed. location. SPD officers at the scene said the person needed shelter, and CCRs were able to get the person to a shelter in the area.

Haller Lake

CCRs saw a person without shoes and contacted them to see if they needed assistance. They provided the person with supplies, food, drinks, and warming materials.

Downtown

SPD requested CCRs for a person seeking shelter for the night. CCRs reached out to several shelters and provided the person with information about options, as well as details on how to access extended shelter in the future and hot meail services in the area.

Cascade

CCRs responded to an SPD request to assist with an individual seeking food and water. CCRs provided him with snacks, nutrition drinks, and water. The person declined any other assistance and CCRs cleared from the call.

Downtown

CCRs contacted two individuals who needed shelter for the night and were hoping to find a meal for the holiday. CCRs provided them with information about meals and shelters, and supplied them with hygiene products, food, and bus tickets.
